REGISTRATION
Registration takes place Saturday 21 September 2024 from 05h00 at the Race Village on Alexandria farm.
Please make sure that you give yourself ample time to register – at least 1 hour before the race.
With a dedicated table for all online entries, registration should go smoothly as you did most of the admin online already – thank you for that!
TIMEKEEPING
Aktief will do the timekeeping.
The results will be available throughout the day and will also be posted on our website.
RACE BRIEFING
The 42 km race briefing takes place 15 min before the race starts on Saturday morning. (05h45)
START TIME
The race starts on Saturday 21 September 2024 at the Race Village at 06h00 sharp.

The compulsory gear check takes place at the first checkpoint.

• Whistle
• Space blanket

NAVIGATION
The route is well-marked.
You can scan the GPX file on your Smartwatch or Smartphone.
There will be marshals, sweepers and checkpoints.
Stick to the routes and avoid shortcuts.
If you wish to discontinue running wait for the sweepers or contact the emergency crew and someone will either redirect you or come and fetch you.
Never go off route!
WATER STATIONS
Runners must be self-sufficient for the day and cannot reply on the water points only.
However, there will be points where you can refill your water bottles if needed.
CHECKPOINTS
There are various checkpoints.
You have to check in at each checkpoint and you will be eliminated from the race should you skip a checkpoint.
Scanning in at the checkpoints is your responsibility.
CUT OFF TIMES
There will be cut-off times along the way, after which emergency routes must be followed.
You have to reach the halfway (at the Race Village) checkpoint at 11h30.
That gives you 5 and a half hours to complete the first half of the race.
The second cut-off point is 36 km.
You have to reach this point by 17h00.
The sweepers and marshals will redirect you should they calculate that you will finish in the dark.
The safety of our runners is always our priority.
SECONDING POINT
Your second can meet you at the halfway checkpoint.
Here you can pick up extra gear, refuel and see your loved ones.
It is at the Race Village and you will have a crowd cheering you on and encouraging you to tackle the second half of your race.
MEDICAL
There will be emergency services on standby, but participants must be fit, healthy and under normal circumstances, be able to complete the event safely without aid.

Should the race medic declare any participant unfit to continue, he or she must withdraw from the event.
Helicopter evacuation, any hospitalization transport or hospitalization will be at the athlete’s cost.
EACH PARTICIPANT MUST TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR SAFETY.
ROUTE OVERVIEW
Distance: 42.53 km
Elevation: 2,046 m
The estimated time running at an average pace of 14 minutes per kilometre will be about 9 hours.
Be prepared for elevation and a test of endurance.
Grant designed the route so that you have enough recovery time after each big climb.
You will do the first half of the race on Farm Eden and will then climb back onto the 21 km route and finish the race at the Race Village.
The halfway checkpoint is at the Race Village and there will be a crowd cheering and motivating the runners! (Spectators at the halfway point are a first in mountain running!)
The sweepers will redirect you should they calculate that you will not finish in time.
